Matt’s RV7 Build Log

I used a hacksaw and metal file for this. I should go ahead and invest in some power tools.

Tasks Completed:

• Finished tapers on HS710 and 714 

I studied the instructions and VAF for while before cutting and filing these parts. 

Tasks Completed:

• Started tapering HS710 and 714 

Task Completed: 

• Match drilled front spar assembly

I took my time on these parts to make sure I wasn’t overlooking something. 

Tasks Completed:

• Match drilled HS608 and 609
• Match drilled HS412 and 413 hinge brackets
• Match drilled HS 411BFirst drilling tonight. 

My job got in the way this week. but as Dan C. says in his site, it was very cool to see the first “piece” temporarily assembled. Now only a thousand more to go.

• Finished HS609PP prep
• Clecoed rear spar assem. together 

Task Completed: 

• Continued to work on HS609PP

I hope I learn how to prep metal more efficiently. This step seems tedious.

• Started edging and polishing HS609PP 

My Emp. Kit showed up on the front steps yesterday. After staring in awe last night, I opened it up tonight and inventoried both boxes. Everything was there. The only issue was a chip in the powder coating on one of the elevator horns.
